Soundtracks for tv, film, theatre, video games

I’ve been working in various areas of the music industry for over 17 years, providing music for the BBC, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, several short films, record companies and entertainment software.

I started playing piano and keyboards around the age of 4 and then taught myself various other instruments.  I remember hearing a Vangelis album as a child and wondering how he played so many instruments at the same time... this led to my interest in recording studios and the industry in general.  Soon after that my interest in film scores started to grow and I was particularly interested in the work of Bernard Hermann, John Williams, Michael Kamen, Michael Stearns, Lalo Schiffren and Danny Elfman.

I generally use various synth’s, samplers and virtual instruments to create the music but I do also play guitar, bass and drums. I think the music sounds much richer if you use a combination of real and synthesized sounds. I’ve also been know to sing on occasion...

If you want to hear some examples of my work then go to the Music page. You will need RealPlayer to hear the music. There are also links on this page to the music I have on MySpace, Soundclick and MusicFreedom.
